1. What Cookies and Local Storage Are

A cookie is a small text file stored in your browser or on your device when you visit a site. Cookies let a site remember information about your visit, such as your signed-in status and language preference, so you do not have to set things up again on every page.

Besides cookies, we use browser local storage, a mechanism that works similarly but whose data is not sent to the server with every request. In the studio application we use local storage to hold your session token so that you stay signed in when the page reloads.

Unless stated otherwise, the cookies and local storage we use do not contain personal data in directly readable form; they hold identifiers that point to records in our systems.

2. Cookies Required for the Services to Work

Authentication session cookie. Marks you as signed in so you can reach the studio, your balance, and your work. Without it you would have to sign in again on every page. It lasts for your session and ends when you sign out or the session expires.

Studio session local storage. The studio application stores an access token, an active-session marker, a profile summary, and a token expiry time in browser local storage so your session survives a page reload. This data is cleared when you sign out or clear your browser data.

Form security cookie. Cloudflare Turnstile places a temporary marker to confirm a request comes from a human rather than an automated program, protecting the sign-in and registration forms from abuse.

Infrastructure cookies. Our content delivery provider may set technical cookies for load balancing, security, and filtering malicious traffic.

Cookies in this group cannot be switched off through the Services because without them the Services cannot run. You can still block them in your browser settings, with the consequence that most features will not work.

3. Preference Cookies

Language preference cookie. We store your choice of language and region so that your next visit opens the right version straight away. This cookie lasts up to one year.

Country hint cookie. We store the country code we obtain from our content delivery network in order to suggest the version of the site closest to your location. This cookie lasts twenty-four hours and contains no coordinates or address.

Turning off cookies in this group does not stop the Services, but your preferences will not be remembered between visits.

4. Analytics and Measurement Cookies

We measure page usage in aggregate to understand which parts of the Services are most useful and which need improvement, for example page visit counts, watch duration, and navigation flows.

We also record the referral source of a visit, for example a marketing campaign or a link from another site, to assess how effective our promotional channels are. We aim to keep this measurement aggregate and do not use it to build behavioural profiles of individuals outside the Services.

We do not sell measurement data to third parties and do not use it for targeted advertising outside the Services.

5. Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are set by service providers we use, namely Cloudflare for security and content delivery, Google when you choose to sign in with a Google account, and payment providers when you are directed to their payment pages.

The video player that streams episodes may also use technical storage to remember playback quality and your last watched position.

Third-party cookies are governed by each provider's own privacy policy. We recommend reading those policies if you want to understand the details.

6. How to Manage Cookies

You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers offer options to block all cookies, block only third-party cookies, or delete cookies already stored. These options are usually found under Settings, then Privacy and Security.

To clear the studio application's local storage, sign out of your account or clear site data through your browser settings. After clearing, you will need to sign in again.

Please note that blocking required cookies will prevent you from signing in, saving work, and completing payments.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add features, change service providers, or adapt to changes in regulation. The date of the most recent update appears at the top of this page.
